Bananas

Bananas can make splendid facial masks and help you get rid of dryness on the face. It is a very easy remedy that can be made at home. Take ¼ cup of ripe banana, one tablespoon of honey and ½ a cup of natural home made yogurt and blend them up into a paste. Apply this paste on the face and neck and rinse it after 15 minutes or when it becomes dry.

Butter Mask

Use the blender to blend 1 tspn of soft butter with 1 tspn of water. Make sure that the butter becomes very soft. Once done, apply it on your face, have it on for 15 minutes and rinse it off with warm water. The natural oils in butter help to hydrate the facial skin.

Avocado Mask

We all know that avocado is good for the heart but not many know that it is an excellent natural moisturizer for the skin. The flesh of avocado needs to be smashed and made into a smooth paste.

Apply this paste on the face and neck area. This helps to open out the pores of your facial skin making them absorb the moisture in the fruit pulp. Wash it off after 10 minutes first with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. It is necessary to do both to ensure that the opened up pores are closed.

Oil Therapy

Mix equal amount of olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil and then massage it on your hands, face, legs and rest of your body and leave it for sometime. A mixture of 3:1 ratio of olive oil to castor oil or grape seed oil can be very effective. Leave it on for sometime till the oils are absorbed into the skin and take a shower so that the oils are completely washed away.

If you have time, you can heat the oil before massaging on your body. After taking a shower, apply light sunscreen/moisturizer so that your skin is protected from the impact of the sun’s rays.

Milk Cream

Milk cream is a good moisturizer and keeps your skin from dryness. Just mix two tsp of milk cream with a tsp of milk and a drop of lemon juice. Apply this mix onto your hands, legs and the rest of your body. Leave it for some time before you take a shower. You will notice the difference in your skin almost immediately.

Cornstarch

Cornstarch not only thickens your gravy but can be used as a good remedy to solve your dry skin problems. All that you need to do is sprinkle a handful of cornstarch into the bath tub and soak your body in it for 15 minutes and have a regular shower later on. The starch adds moisture to your skin and makes sure that the dryness in worn off.

Honey

Honey has a long line of health benefits. In addition to its anti-oxidant and inflammatory properties, honey retains the moisture in the skin for a long time. Just take two tsp of honey, add few drops of lime juice to it. Then lightly heat the mixture and apply it on your body (face, legs, and hands) and leave it for 15 minutes and wash it off. This is a simple yet highly effective remedy for dry skin.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera provides plenty of skin benefits and hence has been used in abundance in most skin care products. Apply Aloe Vera gel on your body after a shower. Aloe Vera not only moisturizes your skin but also acts as a protective shield for your skin and prevents dust from entering into the pores.

Aloe Vera can be grown at homes and hence can be used as per desire whenever you may need it. It can also be purchased from nurseries. You can extract the gel by squeezing and cutting open the center fleshy portion of the Aloe Vera leaf.

Milk and Rosewater/Lime

Take 4 tsp of raw milk and add few drops of rosewater/lime to it. Just apply the milk all over your body and wash it off with cold water after some time. You can do this twice in a day and your skin will feel baby soft. The dryness will be out of the system in no time.

Glycerin

Glycerin has the capacity to absorb and hold moisture for longer time periods. Henceforth, it would be one of the best ideas to use it to eliminate dry skin issues. Take a teaspoon of glycerin and add a few drops of lime to it. Then massage the glycerin throughout your body and leave it for a few minutes before washing it off.
