One of the best things that you can do for yourself in decreasing BPH is to follow some recommended dietary guidelines. This includes the following: ◦One of the things that can cause BPH or Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia to increase is consuming excessive quantities of animal products. To help reduce this condition you should reduce the amount of meat you eat, or the consumption of any animal fats or dairy. Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables that you eat to help counteract this problem. ◦Caffeine should also be avoided in any form. This means coffee, tea, chocolate, and any beverage like Coke, Mountain Dew, Red Bull, etc. This is because caffeine will tighten the bladder neck, which created urination problems. ◦Avoid Alcohol as it is a diuretic and will increase the amount of urine in the bladder, causing more problems for the BPH sufferer.

◦Spicy and acidic foods should be avoided as they can drastically affect men with enlarged prostrates.

Stress and Sex:

Stress impacts the prostrate gland by increasing adrenal hormones that make it difficulty to urinate. Learn ways to alleviate and avoid stress in your life and this will help keep these hormones under control.

Also to relieve and improve on the urination problem, one natural method is to increase the amount of sex that you are having. This is because ejaculation will empty the prostrate of the adrenal hormone secretions that make it difficult to urinate.

Pumpkin Seeds:

There has been some research done indicating that pumpkin seed oil contains compounds that may slow down the growth of prostate cells augmented by testosterone.

This oil contains carotenoids and healthy fat that can reduce the risk of cancer. Eating pumpkin seeds or using pumpkin seed oil can be beneficial in treating BPH.

Rye Pollen Extract:

As a treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, patients can add Rye Pollen Extract to juice or tea 2-3 times per day. When taken regularly, this supplement can improve BPH conditions.

Beta-Sitosterol:

Found in edible plants, beta-Sitosterol is taken in a daily supplement form in order to improve urinary flow, as well as other symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.

The ideal dosage amount is around 20 mg, which should be taken three times throughout the day.

Additional Herbal Remedies: ◦Pygeum is an indigenous African remedy derived from tree bark that contains chemicals that inhibit DHT synthesis and is often used to treat enlarged prostate. Take around 3 capsules per day. ◦Hydrangea root or horsetail herb fixed in tea, tincture, or capsule form are used to reduce the inflammation of the prostate gland. ◦Nettle root tincture or capsules can diminish this enlarged gland. Recommended amounts are from 6-12 ml of tincture per day in divided doses, or 120 mg capsules twice a day.
