Parasitic infections can be caused by different types of insects, worms and single-celled organisms. Protozoa, arthropods, trematodes and nematodes are the four main types of parasites that can harm the human body. Parasites live in or on the bodies of human beings. It is interesting to note that the parasites cannot survive on their own and they obtain their nourishment from human beings. Different types of natural remedies can provide relief from parasites.

Goldthread

Goldthread plant grows in northern latitudes of North America and Asia, Greenland and Iceland. It is a member of the buttercup family and is also known as “Coptis Chinensis”. It is frequently used to treat the infections of the gastrointestinal tract. It can also be used to deal with parasitic infections of giardia, cholera, amebiasis and leishmaniasis.

Garlic

Garlic is a powerful vermifuge. It can help in the expulsion of parasites from the body. An individual is required to take large garlic cloves (15) and peel them. Intake of a soup prepared by boiling peeled garlic cloves in water (2 cups) can give the desired results. An individual can also extract and consume fresh garlic juice. Raw garlic cloves (3) can be chewed every morning for obtaining relief.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil can be used for treating lice. Lice are skin parasites. An individual is required to apply tea tree oil on his/her hair before going to bed at night and wash hair in the morning to obtain relief.

It is essential to comb the hair with small toothed comb to remove nits. Use of this natural remedy for 6 to 7 days can provide effective results. A few drops of tea tree oil can also be added to the regular shampoo used for washing hair.

Castor Oil

Castor oil can be used as a parasite repellent. Application of castor oil directly on the skin with the use of a cotton ball can provide relief from itching and burning sensation caused by parasitic infections.

Pumpkin Seeds

Intake of pumpkin seeds along with plenty of fluids can help in killing the parasites. It is interesting to note that the consumption of roasted pumpkin seeds can provide protection against intestinal parasites. Pumpkin seed extract can also be used for treating tapeworms and roundworms.

Wormwood

Wormwood is also referred to as “Artemisia Absinthium”. It is a perennial herb and can be used as a natural remedy for roundworm and pinworm infestations.

An individual can consume tea prepared with the use of dried wormwood leaf. Wormwood tincture can also be taken for effective results. An individual should not consume any wormwood essential oil product. Further, it should not be taken by pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is another natural remedy and can be taken in the form of a juice, powder or gel for dealing with different types of intestinal parasites. This natural remedy should not be used by a pregnant woman as it can result in vomiting. It is essential to consult a medical practitioner before giving aloe vera to children.
