Flatulence is an expulsion of a mixture of gases produced in the digestive tract of an individual. It is also known as “Passing Gas”, “Breaking Wind” or “Farting”. The noise associated with this problem is caused by the vibration of the buttocks. Common causes include food allergies, esophageal disorders, consumption of fatty food items, dairy products, high legume diet or carbonated drinks, bacterial or fungal infection and so on.

Irritable bowel syndrome and intake of antibiotics may also result in this problem. Symptoms of this problem include abdominal bloating, pain and belching.
