Herbal Remedies For Staph Infection

Staph infection is frequently referred to as ‘’Staphylococcus’’. Staph infection is a contagious skin infection. The problem of staph infection is caused by staphylococcus or staph bacteria. Symptoms of staph infection include redness, itching, burning sensation, swelling or pain in the affected area, fever, chills, sweat and so on. Staph infection may also result in diarrhea, nausea, dehydration or puking.

Pau D’Arco

Pau d’arco is also known as ‘’Lapacho’’. This herb has antibiotic and antimicrobial properties. Intake of pau d’arco tea on a frequent basis can cure staph infection. Tincture extracted from pau d’arco bark can also be consumed to obtain the desired results.

A mixture made by soaking pau d’arco powder in water can be applied on the affected area to relieve staph infection. Pregnant women and nursing mothers should not use this herb.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera can be used to deal with the problem of staph infection. Applying aloe vera gel on the infected skin multiple times in a day can reduce the discomfort associated with this infection. Another option is to apply a paste created by mixing aloe vera gel, yeast and lukewarm water on the affected area.

Fresh aloe vera juice can be applied on the infected skin on a regular basis with the use of a cotton swab to obtain the desired results. Consumption of aloe vera juice 2 to 3 times in a day can also help in controlling staph infection.


Hochu-ekki-to is a mixture of different herbs. Ginseng is its primary ingredient. This herb has antimicrobial properties.Hochu-ekki-to tonic can be consumed on a daily basis to treat various symptoms associated with the staph infection. It is advisable to consult a medical professional before using this herb.

Tea Tree Oil

One of the most effective herbal remedies for staph infection is tea tree oil. Application of tea tree oil on the affected area can provide relief from this infection.

A mixture made by adding olive or almond oil and tea tree oil can also be rubbed on the affected area to obtain the desired results.


Basil has antibiotic properties. The juice extracted from fresh basil leaves can be directly applied on the infected area to treat various symptoms of staph infection. Regular application of basil oil can also help in reducing the itching and burning sensation resulting from staph infection. A mixture created with the use of basil, black pepper powder and water can be applied on the affected area to deal with the problem of staph infection.

Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus oil is mild and useful for staph infection. This herb has antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties.

Intake of a tonic made by adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil to a glass of warm water on a daily basis can help in the treatment of staph infection. Eucalyptus oil can also be directly applied on the affected area to obtain the desired results.
