Herbal Remedies For Itching

The problem of itching is frequently referred to as “Pruritus” or “Itch”. Common causes of itching include infection, sun exposure, allergy, excessive sweat and so on. The problem of itching may result in redness, bumps, dry skin and rashes. Itching can cause discomfort and embarrassment. The problem of itching may affect any part of the body. You can use below mentioned herbal remedies for obtaining relief from itching.

Chamomile

Chamomile is frequently used in obtaining relief from itching. A mixture containing chamomile flowers and water can be applied on the affected area to reduce the itching caused by poison ivy.

It is important to apply this mixture 2 to 3 times in a day to obtain effective results.

Yellow Dock Root

The problem of itching can be cured with yellow dock root. You can create a salve by boiling yellow dock root, burdock root and yarrow in water for a period of 30 minutes and apply this salve on the affected part of the body to treat the symptoms associated with itching.

Basil

Basil can be used in the treatment of itching. Direct application of tea containing dried basil leaves on the affected area 2 to 3 times in a day can help in the treatment of itching caused by ringworm.

Aloe Vera

It is interesting to note that aloe vera can also be used to obtain relief from itching. Rubbing aloe vera gel on the affected area can help in curing the itching from sunburn. Application of a mixture prepared by mixing aloe vera gel and lemon juice can also provide relief from the problem of itching.

Neem

Another effective herb for itching is neem. A mixture can be prepared by boiling neem leaves in a cup of water and applied on the affected area to obtain relief from itching caused by different types of skin allergies.

Direct application of neem oil on the affected area can also provide the desired results.

Madhuca

You can create a paste with the use of madhuca bark and apply it on the affected area on a regular basis to reduce itching. Madhuca oil can also be directly applied to deal with the problem of itching.

Butea Seed

Butea seed is an herb which can provide relief from the symptoms of itching. You can create a paste by mixing butea seed powder with lime water and apply it on the affected area to overcome itching from ringworm and scabies.

Babul

The problem of itching may be treated with the use of babul. A mixture can be prepared by boiling babul leaves in water and applied on the affected area (with the help of a cotton ball) to deal with the symptoms associated with itching.

Herbal Oil

Different herbal oils can be used to cure itching. Olive oil can be rubbed on the affected part of the body to reduce itching resulting from the problem of dry skin. Similarly, peppermint or tea tree oil can also be directly applied on the skin to obtain the desired results.
