Fibromyalgia is referred to as ‘’Fibrositis’’. The problem of fibromyalgia is caused by factors such as psychological distress, infections, trauma or rheumatoid arthritis. Fatigue, sleep disorders, muscle pain or stiffness, mood swings, irritability and so on are some common symptoms of fibromyalgia. Further, fibromyalgia may also result in abdominal pain, depression, migraine headache or frequent urination. Different herbal remedies can be used to treat fibromyalgia.

Juniper

You can apply juniper oil extracted from juniper berries on the affected area on a frequent basis to deal with fibromyalgia. A mixture of juniper and borage seed oil can be directly applied on the affected area to obtain relief. Consumption of juniper berries on a regular basis can also help in reducing the pain resulting from fibromyalgia.

Calendula

You can prepare a cup of tea by boiling dried calendula powder (2 teaspoons) in water (1 cup) and consume this tea 2 to 3 times in a day to relieve fibromyalgia.

Calendula oil can be rubbed on the affected area to obtain the desired results. A mixture of calendula and rosemary oil can also be applied. This herb is not recommended if you are pregnant.

Willow Bark

Another herbal remedy for fibromyalgia is willow bark. Willow bark has anti-inflammatory properties. A tonic can be prepared by boiling willow bark in water and consumed multiple times in a day to cure various symptoms associated with fibromyalgia. You can also create a paste by mixing crushed willow bark and turmeric powder with rosemary oil and rub this paste on the affected area on a daily basis to obtain relief from fibromyalgia.

Grapeseed

Fibromyalgia can be treated with the use of grapeseed. Consumption of grapeseed extract 3 to 4 times in a day can help in treating fibromyalgia.

You can massage grapeseed oil on the affected area on a regular basis to deal with the symptoms of fibromyalgia. A solution created by mixing grapeseed and fish oil can also be applied on the affected area to obtain relief from fibromyalgia.

Skullcap

Skullcap is an herb which can be used in getting relief from fibromyalgia. Consumption of skullcap tea several times in a day can also cure fibromyalgia. You can also consume the dried skullcap powder (half teaspoon) with water one hour before going to sleep to relieve the pain resulting from fibromyalgia.

Castor Oil

Massaging castor oil on the affected area 2 to 3 times in a day can also relieve the pain and inflammation associated with fibromyalgia.

You can also create a paste by mixing warm castor oil with crushed garlic cloves and apply this paste on the affected area to obtain effective results.

Flaxseed

Flaxseed can also provide relief from the problem of fibromyalgia. You can rub flaxseed oil on the affected area on a daily basis to reduce the muscle pain and stiffness resulting from fibromyalgia. Another option is to soak flaxseeds (2 to 3 teaspoons) in water (1 cup) and consume this water (after straining it) on a frequent basis to cure fibromyalgia. You can use flaxseed oil in the preparation of food items consumed on a daily basis.
