Herbal Remedies For Bacterial Infections

Bacterial infections can result in fever, upset stomach and swollen lymph nodes. Headache is another common symptom of bacterial infection. Uva Ursi

Uva ursi is one of the most frequently used herbal remedies for bacterial infections. This herb can help in fighting bacteria. Further, it helps in the excretion of fluid from the body. Urinary tract infections can be cured with the use of this herb.


Another herb which can be used in the treatment of bacterial infections is lomatium. This herb has antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. Lomatium is botanically known as “Lomatium Dissectum”. Intake of lomatium root extract can provide relief from bacterial infections. However, it is important to note that excessive intake of this herb may result in skin rash, nausea and vomiting. Hence, it is essential to consume the extract of lomatium only after obtaining medical advice from a health consultant.


Garlic has antibacterial properties. Intake of garlic cloves with water may help in the treatment of stomach disorders resulting from bacterial infections. Rubbing garlic oil on the chest 2 to 3 times on a daily basis can also provide the desired results. Garlic oil capsules can also be consumed to cure bacterial infections.

Colloidal Silver

It is interesting to note that colloidal silver can also prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. Further, this herb is particularly useful in treating bladder (urinary tract) infections. Gargling with oregano tea can cure throat and tooth infections. Washing the body with oregano tea can also help in the treatment of skin infections caused by bacteria.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil can be directly applied to obtain relief from different types of skin infections caused by bacteria. It is advisable to use a clean cotton swab/ball while applying tea tree oil on the infected area. Further, it is important to apply this herb atleast 2 to 3 times on a daily basis for quick results.


Chamomile has antibacterial properties. This herb can help in improving the immune system. Frequent consumption of chamomile tea may provide relief from stomach disorders caused by bacterial infections.


Another herb for bacterial infections is cranberry. Cranberry juice or supplements can be consumed on a regular basis to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.
