Chafing Home Remedy

Chafing can be downright painful for the individuals that suffer from this very common condition.

There are a variety of reasons that can contribute to the likelihood of chafing, but the simple answer is that it is due to friction.

Friction of any kind can cause this painful and irritating condition of the skin, most commonly seen on the inside of the thighs.

Chafing is usually seen in the overweight or obese as it occurs quite frequently when skin rubs together such as the thighs during walking.

It can however occur in athletes or those that work out extensively as various body parts rub against something as simple as a shoe or shirt, made worse by perspiration.

Chafing is not usually something that one seeks medical attention for. There are simple ways to prevent it, and of course when it comes to those that are overweight the loss of unwanted pounds is the best way.

However as there are a variety of reasons that can cause this friction to develop into full fledged irritation and pain, it can be helpful to look at natural cures.

There are some excellent and rather simple home remedies that can help with chafing.

Keep the Area Dry:

It sounds simple and basic, but the most effective natural cure towards the prevention of chafing is to keep the area dry.

Simple measures such as wearing cotton clothing, using powder, and working to prevent excess perspiration work as wonderful home remedies in the prevention of chafing.

They can also work well to get rid of any chafing problems that you may currently suffer from as well.

Vitamins:

Some believe that certain deficiencies in a persons’ diet are to blame for chafing.

It can be quite helpful therefore to include these vitamins in question within the diet, above and beyond how they appear in foods that we eat.

Taking a supplement of vitamins such as A, C, and zinc can be wonderful home remedies in helping to manage the symptoms and work towards the prevention of chafing altogether.

Proper Cleaning:

If you have already been affected by chafing and are working to get rid of it, then keep the area clean.

Use lukewarm water with mild soap to keep the area clean and apply antibacterial ointment or cream as a wonderful home remedy.

If the site of the chafing isn’t kept clean a more serious infection may occur, so using this very easy home remedy can work wonders towards chafing that you may suffer from.
