Bags Under The Eyes Home Remedy

Added/Modified on April 8, 2014

We’ve all suffered from a sleepless night that has resulted in bags under the eyes.

Though unsightly, we can usually cure ourselves of these bags by getting a good night of sleep and getting back to our normal routine.

Bags under your eyes are rarely a sign of a serious underlying medical condition, and usually is a cosmetic concern. For some people however, bags under the eyes can be a recurrent condition which causes a blemish to the appearance and can of course affect self confidence.

The problem occurs because the skin under our eyes is the thinnest and contains a lot of blood vessels.

These blood vessels cause bags to develop in the first place, and then fat and excess fluid can add to the problem by creating puffiness.

If getting a good night of sleep or working to relieve your daily stresses does not take away bags under the eyes, then an alternative solution is necessary.

Unless it is a rather extreme circumstance where the bags are dark and very prominent, people don’t tend to seek medical attention or plastic surgery.

The good news is that there are some excellent home remedies that will solve the problem and work as a natural cure for bags under the eyes.

Vitamin E:

Vitamin E can be used to help with bags under the eyes.

Finding a supplement that can be taken orally or even Vitamin E oil can be excellent natural cures for the problem.

Vitamin E oil can be rubbed around the eyes and the source of the bags, thus removing the problem and any puffiness or bags that have occurred in the past.

Tea Bags:

Brew up some chamomile or black tea, but in this case it’s not for drinking.

You can either apply the cooled tea bags directly to the eye area or soak a cotton ball in the tea once cooled.

These teas specifically have healing powers and act as a natural cure for bags under the eyes, helping to solve the problem quite effectively.

Honey:

Mixing a tablespoon of honey into a bowl of warm water can make an excellent home remedy for bags under the eyes.

Letting this mix together and cool creates the perfect natural cure that can be applied to the eye area and left on to soak in for about 15 minutes.

Parsley:

Mixing parsley into a cup of boiled water can be another effective home remedy for bags under the eyes.

This mixture should be applied to cotton balls and given a few minutes to soak into the area, thus reducing the bags and any puffiness that contributes to the problem.

Blepharoplasty (Cosmetic Surgery):

Though this is not a home remedy, the only permanent solution for those who experience constant under-eye puffiness is a cosmetic surgery called Blepharoplasty. This treatment involves the surgical removal of fat around the eye.
