Allergic Dermatitis Home Remedy

Added/Modified on January 12, 2017

If you’ve ever suffered from a skin rash, you may often wonder the source.

There are little rashes that come and go from things as simple as heat or a new lotion, but then there are all out breakouts that are harder to manage.

Allergic dermatitis comes about as a result of something touching your skin that can’t be tolerated.

The skin’s reaction when it comes in contact with this substance is to flare up and react through the form of a rash.

This can be quite frustrating for anybody suffering from this skin affliction.

Allergic dermatitis is closely linked with eczema. The reaction is the same for both as the skin gets raised, red, bumpy, and very itchy.

People often seek medical attention for the symptoms that come along with allergic dermatitis and will go through a series of creams and lotions in hopes of finding some relief. However, sometimes these only mask the symptoms or don’t work for the long term, leaving people to wonder if they can find some sort of cure.

It is at this point that people often look for home remedies for allergic dermatitis as a more natural cure and one which will get to the root of the problem.

Avoid Dry Air:

It’s imperative to keep the air around you as moist as possible.

You can see a great deal of flare ups in the cold winter months when the air is dry so the use of a humidifier can really help manage the symptoms and minimize the effects of a breakout you may suffer from.

This can be highly effective and very easy to implement to deal with the combination of cold winter air and forced air that a heater provides.

Colloidal Oatmeal:

When one is suffering from the symptoms of allergic dermatitis, one of the simplest and most effective home remedies is to draw an oatmeal bath.

Finding colloidal oatmeal that is finely ground and perfect for a bath and mixing it in with lukewarm water can provide some relief and if done regularly can even help to cure the onset of any symptoms.

Cold Compress:

It’s fundamental yet highly effective in dealing with allergic dermatitis—the cold compress.

Applying cold and wet compresses to the affected area can help soothe and calm the skin, allowing it to get back to a normal state.

It’s very important from that point on to avoid the substance that created the allergic reaction moving forward.
